Debian Package Lists
I am offering .zsync's for the main Debian Packages files (downloading these rather bulky files is a daily nuisance for Debian users) — these are updated every 30 minutes. Feel free to use them:
$ zsync -i /var/lib/apt/lists/server.debian.org_debian_dists_lenny_main_binary-i386_Packages http://zsync.moria.org.uk/s/lenny/Packages.zsync
$ su root
$ mv Packages /var/lib/apt/lists/server.debian.org_debian_dists_lenny_main_binary-i386_Packages
Or for etch:
$ zsync -i /var/lib/apt/lists/server.debian.org_debian_dists_etch_main_binary-i386_Packages http://zsync.moria.org.uk/s/etch/Packages.zsync
$ su root
$ mv Packages /var/lib/apt/lists/server.debian.org_debian_dists_etch_main_binary-i386_Packages
Or for unstable:
$ zsync -i /var/lib/apt/lists/server.debian.org_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages http://zsync.moria.org.uk/s/unstable/Packages.zsync
$ su root
$ mv Packages /var/lib/apt/lists/server.debian.org_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages
Typicaly zsync only has to download the ~70kB control, file, and ~100kB to update the local Packages file. It's a big saving on downloading the whole file.
